01/08/09 Houndshow - the success of the day is Loki (J Atsama) awarded VHC in a large class - well done Avril & Loki!!!! 25/07/09 Leeds Championship Show A true family outing for the Jengachenga gang..... First in the ring Baako(J Akili) & Loki(J Atsama) awarded reserve & VHC in a large PG class....well done! Then Sani awarded 3rd in limit. Finally Twinkle, unplaced today but got a new pink fluffy octopus for being such a star!! Other news Baako awarded his Bronze Award in the GCDS. Also a huge well done to Emma Ferguson who ably handled Baako in the YKC Junior Handling winning 2nd place!!!!21/06/09 Border Union Championship Show Both boys now in big boys class, post graduate dog...but still placed highly - Baako 2nd & Loki 3rd - well done!! Sani placed reserve in limit dog. 15/06/09 Sani critique for SKC Championship show published - difficult choice, although different in type I liked both these boys, on a different day could change places, has a lovely head, good length of neck, correct shoulder placement & strong back, good angulation & plenty of depth. Lost out on movement which was difficult to assess, his handler had trouble keeping his head up Many thanks to Breed Specialist judge Mrs Pat Thorne(Kwekwe) 14/06/09 Despite thinking we had a weekend free from showing, we took our gang to the dog show at the Bridge of Weir Gala Fair. We entered Sani in the pedigree section, winning his class. For fun we entered Twinkle in the prettiest bitch class and was awarded 3rd place. Sani then competed against all class winners and won BEST IN SHOW. Many thanks judge Mrs Myra Wright.....best of all Sani got lots of photos, praise and a cup....and of course the sun was shining. Once again our gang attracted lots of attention and were on their best behaviour at all times. 24/05/09 The last show weekend for Sani for a wee while. We travelled to Lanark for the Carluke open show. Loki came for a bit of rehab after his attack. His stitches are healing well and he coped so well being amoungst other dogs, although thought the showring was a bouncy castle!!!! Next Sani in open class and awarded 1st place, he then went head-to-head with his half-sister Lexy who won BOB (well done Janice!). I then received a very excited text from Suzanne saying Baako won BIS at Fife Agricultural Show, he got a cup!!!! Brilliant!!! We also got a visit from a lovely family, propsective puppy people, as usual they fell in love with Kariba and the breed (after Biko and Sani sat on their knees!!) - I have to say our gang are excellent at showing how the RR can have a wonderful temperament. 16/05/09 SKC Championship show weekend, flying the flag were Baako, Sani & Kariba. Baako had a ball in Junior Dog class, showing his playful side to perfection!! He was awarded reserve place in a strong class. Sani was awarded 2nd in limit dog, again distracted by lots of nice smells in the grass!! Keebs showed her socks off but wasn't placed today.....she loved being in the ring - so on a high note she's having another break. No Loki today who was badly attacked by another dog on Thursday and now has a 'fencing' scar - which is thankfully healing well - thanks to the maticulous stitchwork of his vet! Baako too has been having trouble from another dog & owner - its amazing although both boys are big and powerful in both situations they have been the victims! I have to say their temperaments are a credit to the breed & thankfully haven't been changed by their traumatic experiences!! On a happy note, a huge congratulations to Nicky Boyd, Sharon Rossiter & Anthea Fox, Teddy (Sonstraal Gabe's Prospect at Sescheke, JW, ShCM) was successfully awarded his third cc making him a well deserved Champion!!!! 04/05/09 Another trip down the M6 & M40 & M25 (with our Sonstraal rellies & friends) to the Southern RR Club Championship show at Leatherhead. The judge, giving tickets for the first time, was hound specialist Mr Nick Bryce-Smith. First in the ring with a mad rush (big thanks to Sharon for helping the girls out!) are Suzanne & Avril with Baako & Loki. A large entry of 15 and both boys are short-listed with Loki placed 4th - so proud of how both boys are progressing - keep it up! Then our cheeky chappie Sani, he showed fabulously in a very strong class and awarded 3rd place! Again I'm delighted with ma boy and the recognition he is getting. Kariba again was overlooked in Open Bitch class but she had a good time with her sons. Great success for friends/rellies, Lisa with Elvis placed 1st in Graduate, Nicky with Teddy VHC in a strong Open dog class, Sharon with Sam (who is now in veteran) awarded 1st then the RCC & Best Veteran in Show and with Peaches awarded 2nd in Mid Limit. A big well done to Sarah Nix & Sue Campbell for the 3rd CC & BIS for Nyassa Caluua (half sister of the A litter) - well deserved!!! 26/04/09 A busy & tiring weekend.... some of the Jengachenga family, mummy Kariba, Uncle Sani & Loki (along with Auntie Kainda) took the long trek down the M6 to the Three Counties Showground, Malvern for the West of England Ladies Championship Show. The judge was Breed Specialist Mrs Sue Simper (Matabelle). First in the ring was Loki for Junior Dog class, who was short-listed out of a large entry, he's still a playful boy but he showed really well and enjoyed himself. Sani was next in the ring in Limit Dog, he was awarded 2nd place, I'm delighted!! Next Kainda, in Post Graduate Bitch class, the biggest class of the day, again she was short-listed. Finally, mummy Kariba enjoyed her time in the Open Bitch class, no prizes today but she had a great time. Fantastic news is that our friends' dog (Nicky, Sharon & Anthea), Sonstraal Gabe's Prospect at Sescheke JW ShCM, was deservedly awarded the Dog CC & BOB & then short-listed in the Hound Group - well handled Nicky!! North of the border Baako was awarded 3rd place in PG Ridgeback class at Clackmannanshire & District Open Show - well done Suzanne. 12/04/09 What a wonderful weekend at the shows, so many fantastic results so it's best to put them on our news page.......to summarise Hound Association of Scotland Championship Show First in the ring is Jengachenga Atsama(Loki) and Jengachenga Akili(Baako) who were awarded 2nd and 3rd in the Junior Dog class - that's both boys now qualified for Crufts 2010. Baako is awarded RESERVE BEST DOG IN SHOW!!!!!Well done Suzanne!!!!!!! Here come the girls........ First is Jengachenga Angara(Twinkle) who is awarded 2nd place in Junior Bitch class. Then Kariba, wonderfully handled by Jennifer, is awarded reserve place in Open Bitch class, out of a large entry!!!! WELL DONE JEN!!!!!! Many thanks to International Breed Specialist Judge Veronica Thoren (Rex Ventors). 21/03/08 Slowly working away and as they say 'all things happen for a reason well I've discovered the hyperlink button, duh!! So all our pages will be far better improved (in time!). No dog shows this weekend so the boys have gone fishing and the girls and I are hitting the beach!! They've got their bikinis and suncream packed. Knowing Scotland we've have three days without rain so it must be summer!! Will be meeting up with Loki, so hope to have some nice photos - watch this space!
16/03/09 - The wonders of technology....for some reason the provider has completely wiped Kariba, Sani and news pages.....wiping away their show succes and critiques...and me being me haven't saved them elsewhere.....so bear with me while I update.
14/03/09 - Brilliant result at Clydebank & District Open show - Sani awarded BOB and the Hound Group - we are so proud of our boy!!!
